European  satellite constellation IRIS² approved

According to a press release, the European Council adopted the EU Secure Connectivity Program for 2023-2027. Through the program, the EU aims to deploy the satellite constellation IRIS² (Infrastructure for Resilience, Interconnectivity and Security by Satellite). The goal is to enable ultra-fast and highly secure communication services by 2027 at the latest, using advanced encryption technologies. This can be used, among other things, for critical infrastructure protection, surveillance and crisis management, which should contribute to European resilience and sovereignty.
