Johan Martens

Johan Martens is Emeritus professor at the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering at KU Leuven. He holds a PhD in Applied Biological Sciences (KU Leuven). His expertise lies in the field of porous materials for catalysis, molecular separations and controlled release and introducing concepts from catalysis in other disciplines and application areas such as renewable energy and green hydrogen, water, aquaculture and human health. His focus on innovation is evidenced by numerous patent applications and the establishment of five spin-off companies (SOLHYD, AQUA4C, FORMAC Pharmaceuticals, Magnetics for Emulsion and Ziscoats).
