Koen Vanhalst

Koen Vanhalst is European and Belgian Patent Attorney and Partner at De Clercq & Partners CVBA, specialised in intellectual property in the life sciences. He is also guest lecturer of intellectual property at the University of Gent in the domain Biotechnology.

Koen Vanhalst is a member of the board of the Belgian chapter of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), of the Belgian Council of Intellectual Property, and is Vice President of the Institute of Belgian Patent Attorneys.

Before starting with De Clercq & Partners he worked as patent examiner at the European Patent Office. Koen Vanhalst holds a PhD in Biotechnology of Ghent University, Belgium.
