Marc Van Sande

Marc Van Sande was until the beginning of 2018 Executive Vice-President Energy & Surface Technologies with Umicore, where he was also responsible for their activities in China. He started his career in 1980 with MHO, a forerunner to Umicore. Following various functions in production and product development, he became Vice-President of the Business Unit Electro-Optic Materials in 1994. In 1999 he became a member of the Umicore Executive Committee. He assumed the role of CTO of the group between 2005 and 2010.

Marc Van Sande obtained a doctorate in Physics (University of Antwerp) and an MBA from the Antwerp Management School.
