VARIO Council Member Vanessa Vankerckhoven named Female Entrepreneur of the Year
VARIO proudly announces that its council member Vanessa Vankerckhoven has been named 'Female Entrepreneur of the Year' since Tuesday evening. According to jury chair Gudrun Verschuere (Vrouwennet vzw), "she impressed the jury with her combination of scientific excellence and entrepreneurship." Lien Degrauwe from Swivvle® was named 'Promise of the Year.'
Vanessa Vankerckhoven is the founder and CEO of Idevax, an Antwerp-based company that develops innovative medical products. Idevax creates devices that make skin injections more reliable, simpler, and painless. Unique to her product is that it is injected into the skin. The injection devices can be used for vaccines, but also for cancer treatment. The Womed Award was presented by Minister Annelies Verlinden. It is an initiative of Unizo, the Flemish Agency for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Vlaio), and the women's organizations Markant and Artemis. The winners not only forge their own impressive paths but also inspire other women to take the step towards entrepreneurship.
