Wim Haegeman

Wim Haegeman is part-time professor of Soil Mechanics and Soil Dynamics (UGent) and until 2017 director at the VIVES University of Applied Sciences for the field of study Industrial Sciences and Technology. Previously, he held positions as lecturer at Southeast University Nanjing (China) and the University of San Simon (Bolivia) and as associate professor at KU Leuven.

Wim Haegeman is chairman of the non-profit organizations Start West-Vlaanderen (home guidance service) and COPO (meeting center Assebroek) and director of CVO Miras (adult education) and until 2017 VCLO (Flemish Aviation Center Ostend). He is also a board member of Voka Oostende and member of the Bluebridge NV management committee.

He graduated in Civil Engineering and Engineering in Geotechnical Engineering at the University of Gent. He later also obtained a doctorate in Applied Sciences in Architecture.
