According to VARIO, the new regulation can contribute to the vision to use the crisis to accelerate the necessary transformations to realize a sustainable and future-oriented economy and society. On the other hand, the financial resources saved by the regulatory change, should be used to strengthen other support mechanisms for transformation.
In addition, VARIO is generally positive about the regulatory change to make the support measure more selective and qualitative. However, this must lead to an actual increase in efficiency and effectiveness and must be monitored in relation to the number and quality of the proposals submitted. In this context VARIO also formulates a number of specific recommendations.
