VARIO work program 2023

For 2023, VARIO again has a diverse and well-filled work program. In spring, the council will finalize its advice with policy recommendations to strengthen Flanders' position on patents. This is an advisory process started at the request of minister Hilde Crevits and continued in consultation with her successor, minister Jo Brouns. Also on the agenda for 2023 are a number of advisory reports on VARIO’s own initiative. This includes a report on broadening the strategic international orientation towards the European Union, and, in a later phase, also one on successful innovation ecosystems worldwide. In addition, VARIO is developing an advisory report on transformative innovation policy. In 2023, VARIO will also formulate its memorandum to the next Flemish Government. In this memorandum, VARIO will put forward its priorities for the future in the policy areas of Science, Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
